Adam's Commission, #2

Category:

This is the second in a series on this topic, and how many papers will be necessary to adequately cover all the implications and ramifications is hard to determine at this point. I should point out that if you haven’t read Adam’s Commission, #1, you may not fully comprehend entirely what will be presented in this second issue. Previously, it was pointed out that Adam’s commission is to be found at Genesis 1, verses 26 & 28, with the creation of Adam sandwiched in-between at verse 27.

Some of those holding to the 6th & 8th day creation theory contend that Adam’s commission is to rule over the other races! They take Psalm 2:8 completely out-of-context where it says: “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” They assume we are to inherit the other races as a work force, but rather the heathen are going to be destroyed, and we will receive their lands as our “possession.” Psalm 2 has nothing to with us inheriting the non-Adamites. Psalm 2:1 is quoted by Peter at Acts 4:25: “Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?” Again at Acts 13:33, Psalm 2:7 is cited: “God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Yahshua again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.” It should be perfectly clear at 2:7 that David is speaking of our Messiah. The question arises, then, if the “Son” at verse 7 is Yahshua our Redeemer, who or what is “thine inheritance” at verse 8? At Acts 2:29-30 we are informed that David was a prophet, and his prophecy at Psalm 2:7 of Christ validates that fact. So we must ask again, is the entire passage of Psalm 2 in the future in respect to David’s time? Hence, if David meant Yahshua at Psalm 2:7, who are we to change it to “us”? So who inherits who or what? Thus, it’s not who we are going to rule, but who the Christ is going to rule, and it’s not the “other races” or “heathen.” I’m often amazed where all these people come up with all of their harebrained ideas! Adam was assigned segregation rather than leadership over the non- Adamic peoples!

There is a very interesting passage that has been found in the Dead Sea Scrolls on the royal tribe of Judah. The following is from the book The Dead Sea Scrolls Translated, Second Edition, by Florentino Garcia Martinez, Wilfred G. E. Watson, Translator, page 215. This is from scroll 4qGenesis Peshera (4q252):

Col. v  1 Gen. 49:10 A sovereign shall [not] be removed from the tribe of Judah. While Israel has the dominion, 2 there will [not] lack someone who sits on the throne of David. For «the staff» is the covenant of royalty, 3 [the thou]sands of Israel are «the feet». Until the messiah of justice comes, the branch 4 of David. For to him and to his descendants has been given the covenant of royalty over his people for all everlasting generations, which 5 he has observed [...] the Law with the men of the Community, for 6 [...] it is the assembly of the men of [...] 7 [...] He gives ”

It should be understood that this passage from the Dead Sea Scrolls is not Scripture in itself, but rather commentary by some priest or scribe. But whoever wrote this passage understood that the Tribe of Judah was the royal tribe, and that there is an everlasting covenant with David’s descendants to sit on his throne! The interesting thing about this passage is that it has the [House of] Israel as “the feet.” This accords well with Psalm 2:8 in the KJV, had it been translated “[Adamic] nations” rather than “heathen”, and makes a lot more sense! This passage is especially outstanding where it says “For to him (David) and to his descendants has been given the covenant of royalty over his people for all everlasting generations ...”

Again from the book The Dead Sea Scrolls Translated, Second Edition, by Florentino Garcia Martinez, Wilfred G. E. Watson, Translator, page 309. This is from scroll 11qPsalmsa(11q5[11qPsa]), Col. XXVII:

Col. xxvii (Compositions of David 2 Sam 23:7): 1 and the haft of his spear and he cast them in the fire leaving no trace of them. 2 [Blank] And David, son of Jesse, was wise, a luminary like the light of the sun, learned, 3 [Blank] knowledgeable, and perfect in all his paths before God and men. And to him 4 [Blank] YHWH gave a wise and enlightened spirit. And he wrote psalms: 5 three thousand six hundred; and songs to be sung before the altar over the perpetual 6 offering of every day, for all the days of the year: three hundred 7 and sixty-four; and for the Sabbath offerings: fifty-two songs; and for the offering for the beginning 8 of the month, and for all the days of the festivals, and for the day of atonement: thirty songs. 9 And all the songs which he composed were four hundred and forty-six. And songs 10 to be sung over the possessed: four. The total was four thousand and fifty. 11 He composed them all through the spirit of prophecy which had been given to him from before the Most High. [Blank]

This passage has many things to consider, but I wish to point out that many of David’s Psalms are prophecy, especially Psalm 2. Do we have any other reference to support the statement, “For «the staff» is the covenant of royalty, 3 [the thou]sands of Israel are «the feet»”? Yes, we do, at Lamentations 2:1-2 (ASV): “1 How hath Yahweh covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger! He hath cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, And hath not remembered his footstool in the day of his anger. 2 Yahweh hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: He hath thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; He hath brought them down to the ground; he hath profaned the kingdom and the princes thereof.” The term “footstool” simply implies “servant of the king”! All Israelites are Yahweh’s servants!

I will now quote excerpts from The Zondervan Pictorial Encyclopedia of the Bible on the topic “footstool”, volume 2, page 588: “FOOTSTOOL ... A low stool for supporting the feet of a person seated upon a pretentious seat, as a throne. In the RSV the word is used in a literal sense only once (2 Chron 9:18) where it is said that Solomon’s throne had six steps and a footstool of gold; in the KJV ... The thirteen other times the word is used are figurative, and in all of them it is God who makes use of the footstool ... The figurative uses of the word fall into the following groups: (1) Of the earth; heaven is the throne of God and the earth His footstool (Isa 66:1; Matt 5:35; Acts 7:49). (2) Of the Ark of the covenant in the Tabernacle (1 Chron 28:2). (3) Of the Temple (Pss 99:5; 132:7; Lam 2:1). (4) Of the enemies of the Messianic King who have been subdued by Him (Ps 110:1; Matt 22:44; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:43; Acts 2:35; Heb 1:13; and 10:13).”

From A Biblical Theology of the Old Testament by Roy B. Zuck, page 181 we read a very appropriate comment: “... David states explicitly, ‘The Lord [Str. #3068] says to my Lord [Str. # 113] [i.e., David]: ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet,’ Ps. 110:1.

“When this elevated language is viewed in light of another psalm of David (Psalm 2) it is most evident that the priestly king is none other than the Son of God. The relevant lines read, ‘He said to me, ‘You are my son, Today I have become your father. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.’ (Ps. 2:7b–).”

You will notice that Zuck properly rendered Psalm 2:8 as “nations” rather than “heathen.” One may also check Smith & Goodspeed for a translation of “nations” here. In fact, the last phrase should have read “[And] the ends of the earth your possession.” I like this rendering, for it implies that the Lion of the Tribe of Judah will rule over all Israel, and Israel will possess the entire (every square foot of the) earth, not leaving a single square inch for others.

Putting everything in its proper perspective, we have Yahweh Elohim creating Adam-man at Genesis 1:27 & 2:7 in His own Image, whereupon Yahweh in Spirit takes upon Himself Adam in the flesh born of Judah inheriting Judah’s rod, who in turn directs Israel as His “feet” which then treads upon the enemy who are His “footstool.”

The Representative of Adam-man shall then realize His original destiny of ‘man’ as the Head of the creation (Gen. 1:26, 28), and the center of the league of Israel. On the other hand, Satan as the serpent is the representative head of all that is bestial and corrupt. This ‘son of man’, however, is always associated with Messiah’s Second coming, inasmuch as the Kingdom awaits Him in that it belongs to Him as the Redeemer of His people and the Restorer of our Inheritance. ‘Yahweh shall send the rod of thy strength (Messiah) out of Zion.’

His investiture was at His ascension ‘with the clouds of heaven’, (Acts 1:9, Matt. 28:18), which is in like manner a pledge of His return, (Acts 1:11, Mat. 26:64), and ‘with clouds’ (Rev. 1:7). At His First Advent the kingdom was given to Him in title and invisible exercise; whereas at His second coming it shall be in visible administration: (1) He will vindicate it from the misrule of those who have plundered it under the maladministration of Satan and his children whom have worked diligently to destroy the seed of the woman; but the seed of the woman through Yahshua the Christ, the rightful heir, (2) will assert His right on behalf of His kinsman in all His Majesty, (Psalm 2:6-9, Ezek. 1:27-28, Heb. 1:2, Rev. 19:13-16). At Christ’s coming forth, because He sits at Yahweh’s right hand, His enemies are made His footstool; then the kingdom is given to the Son in actual investiture and He comes to crush His so-prepared footstool under His feet. But the words ‘with the clouds’ agree best with His investiture at His ascension, though invisibly given Him then (Eph. 1:20-22); in the prophetic view, however, is the precursor of His coming again visibly to reign – “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the ekklesia” (called out ones), Ephesians 1:22.

Such is Adam’s ultimate commission, for Yahweh took upon Himself 23 chromosomes of Adam in the flesh! Scripture confirms Yahshua was both the “root” and “branch” of Jesse, and therefore of David, for which see Isaiah 11:1, 10 (Romans 15:12), Revelation 5:5, 22:16, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:15, Zechariah 3:8 and 6:12, thus accounting for the 23 chromosomes of Mary’s genetics without which our Messiah could not be born in the manner prophesied. Likewise, unless Yahweh through the Holy Spirit, in some manner, supplied the matching genetic 23 chromosomes, conception could not have taken place, leaving Scripture unfulfilled!

ADAM’S COMMISSION STILL

SOMEWHAT CONFUSING

If we will go back to Genesis 1:26 & 28, we see again that Adam and his kind were given authority over Yahweh Elohim’s creation. Then, once we understand that the Adam at Genesis 1:27 and 2:7 are the same Adam, we have a dilemma on our hands, for nowhere in Scripture is the creation of the non-Adamic races mentioned! Therefore, they cannot be “kind ... after his kind”, nor can it be implied that “it was good.”

At this point, I would like to quote from William Finck’s Genesis Overview: “I know that many have a strong impulse to find in our Bibles the answers with which to rectify the proposals of men such as Velikovsky (Worlds In Collision) and Sitchin, or to harmonize the Bible with the pre-Adamic archaeological record. But the truth is that Velikovsky and Sitchin are modern-day false prophets, and children of Belial in whom there is NO TRUTH (John 8:44) for they are both ‘Jews’, and that the Bible is a history of our own race which tells us nothing of pre-Adamic earth history: except for the presence and origination of the Adversary (Satan).”

It’s simply amazing how many there are who have a higher regard for Velikovsky and Sitchin than for Scripture! I have six of Sitchin’s books in my library that someone donated to me, but you can be considerably sure that I will be hesitant to quote from him – if I ever do – and I haven’t yet!

But we must get back to the issue at hand: Who’s going to rule over what, or whom, and when? When we go back to Genesis, there is not one peep about Adam ruling over the non-Adamic! Yahweh has given Adam the command to “drive out”, not rule over, Exodus 34:24. Furthermore, when we neglected to drive them out, Yahweh turned the tables on us at Numbers 33:55, and allowed our enemy to take charge, and he has been in charge ever since. The Adamic rulers on down through the history of Israel have failed miserably. Our best kings in Europe of the House of David, while doing well in some areas, have also failed.

Let’s take the story of India and South Africa for instance. I speak of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, 1869-1948. After his basic education in India, while under British rule, he went to England in 1888 to study law, and was accepted into the Temple bar; returning back to India again. He then went to South Africa to practice his vocation where he became somewhat successful as both a lawyer and politician. But one day, as the custom was in South Africa, Gandhi got kicked off a train because of his skin color, and spent all night in considerable inconvenience. From this, Gandhi was so incensed that he started to devise in 1906 his first plan for nonviolent resistance derived from reading Henry Thoreau, Leo Tolstoy, along with both the New Testament and Hindu scriptures. To make a long story short, that same ideology of “nonviolent resistance” was used against us by the “Jew” backed civil rights movement. So that is an example of what we get when we attempt to rule over non-Adamites or half-breed Adamites! And there are thousands of similar stories.
